Outfit Inspiration: A New Way To Style Plaid For Fall

Wait a minute… Is plaid even a thing anymore?

I’m not the kind of person who wears plaid flannel shirts. That’s never been my style, unless it’s getting DIY’d into something else. On the other hand, I’ve always been under the impression that plaid is a Fall wardrobe must have no matter what. Lately, I noticed that plaid is making fewer appearances and “going mad for plaid” isn’t plastered everywhere you turn. For some reason, I still decided to go mad for plaid though! And when I saw these plaid accordion pleated flare bottoms, in my mind it was a game changer. So, I’m bringing plaid back in a major way for the people! Today, I’m introducing you to a new way to style plaid for fall.

The Sherpa Jacket

I like my Sherpa jackets like I like my Sherpa blankets: warm and oversized!

Before I jump into the excruciating details of these pants, I have to tell you about this jacket. It is the best spontaneous investment I have made all year long.

My biggest Fall dilemma is finding a coat that is practical for the change of seasons and thick enough to withstand that cold winter air when it sweeps in out of nowhere. This sherpa jacket pretty much gets the job done.

Judging by the photos I found online, it doesn’t seem like this jacket was intended to be worn as an oversized jacket either. So I’m probably not the most “fashionable” example, but I’m much more comfortable this way. I managed to grab a medium while questioning every fiber of it’s over sized being. It was truly made with more to love!

The Rolling Stones Graphic Tee

“You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime you find
you get what you need”

– The Rolling Stones

I needed this shirt. The iconic Rolling Stones logo with a cheetah print tongue? It was a fashion love affair at first glance. I did some research on the logo because the obsession with it is clear as day, but I had no idea what it meant! The clearest reference I could find said that the lip and tongue logo was an idea that came up because of Mike Jaggers face. I’m not making this up! Unless the internet is, then it could be questionable.

The Plaid Pants

If you’re not wearing plaid, then is it truly fall?

I know what you’re thinking. Obviously, Mother Nature is still going to do it’s thing whether plaid becomes a part of you’re wardrobe or not. It just feels like fashion is playing an active part in the change of seasons from Summer to Fall when plaid is in the mix too.

Now I’ve had accordion pleated skirts but never accordion pleated pants. It’s also rare for me to stumble across a pair of Free People flare bottoms that don’t require some sort of alterations. So, it was mind blowing how these bottoms perfectly fit me! No alterations needed! These plaid flares gracefully sweep the floor with a pair of fall boots too!
