Mixing My Two Favorite Seasons: Summer & Fall
The hustle and bustle of back to school is in session and all things pumpkin spice are taking over! You would think that being a college student would deter my excitement for back to school, especially since those big yellow buses also indicate the near end of those long, hot, Summer days I love so much. Instead, I look at this positively. I may not be able to take the Summer weather with me into the next season, but nothing can stop me from wearing some of my favorite Summer pieces! That is, unless it snows. Then I might be a little more disappointed, because I am NOT ready for snow yet!
What better way to show my excitement for a new season than with a pair of booties and a business casual dress to compliment it? The outfit featured in this post is a simple mix. I put together this adorable cami dress from Mod&Soul with a pair of fierce, faux, snakeskin booties from Fabrik. Originally I planned to wear some sort of long sleeve or short sleeve top underneath, but this was photographed on a scorching Summer day and I was not prepared to be uncomfortably hot. You can actually see that I was dodging the sun by taking some of these photos in the shade.

DRESS + BOOTIES
Summer is my favorite season but I love the Fall because it allows me to dress in the most fashionable version of myself. Everything in my closet is a contender for being included in the next days OOTD when layering is an option. I can mix the Summer’s bright bold colors with romantic Spring prints, layer them under my Fall knits and by October accessorize them with my Winter accessories. This season I aim to mix more of my Summer pieces into my Fall outfits because they are the most basic part of my wardrobe. Pieces like crop tops, cami dresses, bandeaus and even a pair of shorts are going to make my wardrobe a little more interesting this season when paired with accessories. If you don’t know where to get started, don’t worry! Keep scrolling and you can check out a few basics that I found worth adding to your wardrobe under your statement pieces.
SUMMER BASICS
FALL FAVORITES
Just because the fall season is approaching, doesn’t mean all those bright and bold pieces have to get stuffed back into the far end of the closet. Bold colors mixed with muted florals are definitely a fall wardrobe vibe too! It’s just not something I incorporate in my style often. If I had to though, I would have to try the Gucci-esque look from last year. I didn’t have the guts to try it last year, but it’s something I’m think about this year with my own little twist. You can’t go wrong with an outfit as long as your look and feel confident, right? What do you think? Is mixing your Summer and Fall wardrobe something you would do? Should I try last years Gucci-esque look with my own flair? Let me know in the comments below.

You definitely should! I think it would be a great look for you too!
Your style is so cute! And this post is super helpful-I live in Texas so its super hot here-but I am so ready to transition into fall!!
I’m glad it helps & thanks!! I feel the same way though. Fall cannot come soon enough.
This booties look gorgeous! I love that trend for fall.
They are my absolute favorite pair right now. Booties always steal my heart (and money) when Fall comes back around. Lol!
I have the same animal print booties and I LOVE them. Such cute looks to mix together as we head into fall.
Really? Where did you find yours? The booties I have are so comfortable. I wore them for the entire day without feeling like I needed to take them off. That’s rare for me with booties.
I love that linen dress! It’s so perfect for summer, and would be so easy to layer for fall!
Such a great look. I love mixing seasons together as much as I can and you just inspired me!
Those snakeskin booties are all about fall! Love this look on you.
