Still Branding: What Exactly Is Instyleversity?
Still taking my time to perfect good reads and I still got love for my peeps, it’s Instyleversity.
Those aren’t the original lyrics, but I really hope you read that to the tune of “Still” by Dre. If not then we’re just going to pretend like you did and keep it moving. Sound good? Good.
I’m still here though! Still dropping blog posts. Still pushing content. Still branding. Still trying to answer questions like: What exactly is Instyleversity? How can it benefit me? Why should I follow Instyleversity? I’m gonna be honest, it was a struggle then and it’s a work in progress now.
This new norm feels different though. Both good and bad, but you know I’m one to focus on the silver lining in situations. It feels like an opportunity to finally put all of my time and energy into things that I’ve been scrambling to focus on for a while now. Like an opportunity to put the finishing touches on a project months before it’s due. There’s just one more task that has to get checked off before I reach that feeling of accomplishment.
I’ll probably look back on this post at the end of the year and shake my head at myself for taking so long to finally define the brand built on the things I love. But right now I’m in discovery mode. What exactly is Instyleversity?
As I struggle with the content I will produce, there are key elements Instyleversity is. I made sure to jot down a list so I’ll be able to refer back to it just in case the vision of my brand gets blurry. So, here we go:
Instyleversity is a personal blog inspiring you to be your most authentically quirky self.
It’s a combination of diversity and style.
It’s deciding to stand out instead of trying to fit in.
It’s dressing up for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
It’s loving designer jeans but not the designer price tags so you scout to find them at a lower price.
It’s loving your natural bare-face as much as your face full of makeup.
It’s randomly deciding to plant a spring garden because you just feel like it.
It’s keeping it real in every photo even if everything doesn’t look perfect for the gram.
It’s staying home to binge on Netflix, Korean Dramas, and anime all weekend.
It’s being the most optimistic inspirational person in the bunch.
It’s having a a full fledged fort in the middle of your living room.
It’s traveling to new places to enjoy the view, picking up new hobbies to better yourself, and wandering so you don’t have to wonder.
It’s staying open to all life has to offer while staying true to who you are even when the world undeniably wants you to fit into a mold to be somebody else.
More than anything, it’s taking everything one day at a time and accepting the past, present and future for what it is.
In Instyleversity, I vow to give you the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth as long as yall promise not to roast me for it. Lol!
