The Ultimate Guide to Black Friday

I hope everyone has been able to eat as much as their stomachs can stand and shop until excitement turned to exhaustion. Now it’s time to relax… and shop online! ?

When Black Friday deals roll out, everybody and their momma is out shopping. Let’s face it no one wants to pass up a chance to get that item they’ve had their eye on at an even more discounted price than before! I can definitely relate! Now that I’ve done my fair share of shopping both in store AND online, I’m going to do my part and share the details. Below I’ve rounded up my list of places that had the best deals on Thanksgiving and Black Friday along with some items that caught my eye! Some of those have changed so keep reading for the cheat codes!

Black Friday Favorites

Boohoo

Up to 75% off everything AND additional 25% off using code EXTRA

Wait, how much off? If you shop at Boohoo enough you know that the normal percentage off is around 60% off. So when I dropped in and saw 75% my jaw dropped. Take it! Take my money! If you’re looking for somewhere to snag that show stopping Christmas outfit or a nice set of PJ’s, Boohoo is a good place to start. Don’t wait though. Their promotions tend to switch up pretty fast! ?‍♀️ ?

Macy’s

Free shipping on orders of $25 or more AND extra 15%-20% off select departments with some exclusions.

I lucked up on a load of Free People goodies this year all thanks to Macy’s. They have sweaters and jackets that have been popular all season long for up to 50% off! Not to mention free shipping if you spend more than $25. Honestly, they had me at free shipping but the 50% off sealed the deal. No abandoned carts this time. Send me my self gifted Christmas gifts! ?

Nordstrom Rack

Additional 50% off clearance

I love me a good deal and I absolutely cannot pass up an opportunity at additional 50% off, especially when it has the name Nordstrom in it. Needless to say, I was able to fill up my cart with a pair of jeans for $13 and a couple of tops for under $10. Mind blown. ?

Old Navy

50% off everything!

If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it! Old Navy has been running the 50% off everything sale on Black Friday just about every year and it STILL brings the crowd!

Oh Wait There’s More!

Forever 21

Extra 30% off everything AND extra 50% off sale with code BLKFRIYAY

I’ve been waiting for Forever 21 to do something like this since they brought in the collection filled with neutral knits and hues of nude for the winter. Forever 21 did a sale like this at the beginning of November admits the pre-Black Friday hype, BUT if you missed out on your favorited items like I did then this is your second chance! ?

Nine West

50% off everything!

I have to give it to Nine West for often having comfortable shoes made with high quality at a reasonable price. They deserve rounds for having it discounted this much though. They’ve been running the 50% off promotion for some time but the extra 20% was a Black Friday thing. It also helps a ton to be on their text alerts list. Oh and if anybody wants to buy me the Yellow Snakeskin Maxim Dress Boots in a size 9, I’d highly appreciate it. ?

Sally Beauty Supply

30% off of purchases of $50 or more

My hair needed this sale more than I did. I racked up on a bunch of hair necessities to help me with my wash & gos, twist outs & blowouts for the upcoming year. It only makes sense to stock up now while the gettings good!

Mielle

50% off everything!

If you’ve been blessed with a kinks, coils and curls then this sale should be on your radar. The CEO announced that a sale would be happening for Black Friday, but who knew it was going to be THIS good?! Some of the most coveted Mielle products are as low as $5 for Black Friday. Consider your wig snatched, sis. ??‍♀️

Target

It’s Target. Say less.

In my family, we call it Targét if you’re feeling bougie. I still don’t know what it is about Target that causes people to set aside their main purpose of shopping and commit to a sporadic list of last minute distractions. Needless to say, they successfully distracted me with $10 sweaters and $10 boots. ?

Walmart

It’s Walmart. Everything is basically a deal.

Honestly though, what doesn’t Walmart have? Well they don’t have designer brands BUT they have similar items made with good quality at affordable prices. That’s a win-win for me! ?

Shopping Cheat Codes

Would it be great if shopping had a cheat code? It does! However, the real phrase for it is promo codes. I’ve rounded up a list of codes from some of my favorite retailers below who are continuing their sales throughout Black Friday weekend!

Forever 21 30% off your purchase and additional 50% off sale with code BLKFRIYAY

Word To The Wise

There is a lot to learn from Black Friday, so here’s my takeaway:

Sign up to receive text alerts. Retailers and brands like Nine West often send out text messages about the latest deals and if you’re on the list you’ll never miss a beat! This way you won’t miss out on changes to recent promotions, deals or discounts!

Shop online. Instead of plotting on when to visit stores, stay home and watch those deals like how people on eBay watch their bids! As long as you get on the site and make that purchase right when the sale starts you’ll never miss out and what you’re looking for. That is unless you’re shopping for and item sold in limited quantities like a TV, but this is a fashion blog so good luck with that!

Don’t let FOMO make you forget your needs. This is the most important. No, you probably don’t want to miss out on that pair of boots on sale for less than half of the price, but you also don’t want to skip out on having a skincare routine next year. Evaluate your wants, needs and get it together. FOMO (fear of missing out) is all clout. So don’t get so caught up that you spend all of your money on things you don’t need. The last thing you want is a hangover in your bank account mixed with that feeling of stomach turning regret when you wake up the next morning. No regerts.

On another note, some of the Black Friday sales are ending just in time for Small Business Saturday to begin. So if you’re treating shopping like a sport, then Black Friday was just the warm up! Shop til you drop!
