Vision Board: Creating A Vision Board For 2020
2020 is here, which means it’s also time to get it together! I can’t keep letting my goals from previous year (or years…), become my goals for the new year. New goals should be put into place every new year! Not new year new me, but new year new goals, new dreams, new manifestations, and maybe even a new life! If a new life then, preferably one with everything I already got going on just with the additional circumstance that involves a substantial amount of secured bags in my bank account. What better way to do that than with a vision board? There’s been a lot of talk about manifestations, positive affirmations, vision boards, mantras, and goals. So after finishing my review of 2019 and setting my goals for 2020 in my previous post, I put together a 2020 vision board.
What Is A Vision Board?
Have you ever heard of speaking things into existence? Well, vision boards are basically a way to see things into existence. There’s a psychological aspect to seeing something everyday. It allows you to visualize and physically manifest your dreams and goals. In other words, a vision board is a visual representation of your goals, dreams, manifestations, and basically anything else you’re aspiring to be or accomplish for the year.
What’s On My Vision Board?
The whole point of creating a vision board is so that you can see your goals in plain sight everyday as you work towards them. I filled my vision board with subtle reminders, tips from my 2019 Review & 2020 Goals and a few of my biggest objectives for 2020.
I crafted my vision board to look similar to a scrapbook. At the top and bottom of my board you’ll notice the “inhale” and exhale”. I cut them out from an old scrapbook that I bought from Michael’s Arts & Craft Store a while back. They’re pinned to my board as a subtle reminder to breathe. It’s easy to go about the day without taking a moment for yourself, and more importantly your body, to relax.
The biggest reminder I need to see daily, as well as my theme for the year is consistency. I even incorporated a list of goals and a pact for 2020, which may be difficult to read since I put them in pencil. All around my board I added photos of food and drinks from cafes because my favorite place to create is in any kind of cafe. Lastly I added a positive affirmation that reads: “I am a magnet for divine abundance in the form of money, health and happiness.” It was ideal for me to make the board a reflection of the vibe I plan to keep all 2020. Good Vibes Only and Bad Vibes Loney. Yes, that was a Dok2 reference if you’re familiar with K-Pop music.
Creating Your Own Vision Board
I definitely suggest taking some time for yourself by yourself to do the internal work first. That means setting aside time out of your day to completely clear your mind and do some deep self reflection. Think about everything you want to accomplish, mistakes you dont want to make , a theme, and all of that other good stuff. After all the tough stuff is out the way, get creative! Pick pictures that convey powerful emotions, quotes that inspire you, or even go as far as drawing what the big picture will actually look like.
There’s really not much to creating your own vision board. Creating a vision board is all about you and your aspirations. Go wild! Fill your own vision board up with whatever fuels you. Envision your highest self, tack those ideas to your vision board as a reminder to start showing up as that person everyday and then do it!
